A friend of an Oxford teen who died after accidentally shooting himself in the head is raising funds for the teen’s family.
Levi Cotton, 19, shot himself at the Oxford Exchange shopping Center on July 16, according to investigators. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he died two days later. Oxford Police chief Daniel Phipps said Cotton was an organ donor and offered condolences to his family.
Cotton’s friend, Logan O’Donnell, set up a GoFundMe account to support the family. The $10,000 goal will go toward paying Cotton’s debt and his final arrangements. Over $7,600 has been raised.
