The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of a man in connection with a child sex abuse case involving multiple victims.

Daniel Allen Hartman, 31, of Loxley, was charged after a three-month investigation. He is charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse and sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old.

"It was determined that Hartman preyed on children over the course of 9 years, in two states," the sheriff's office stated. "It was determined that Hartman crossed state lines for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity with a child."

Hartman was taken into custody Tuesday and booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center on bonds totaling $135,000.
