Mac McAnally, a 10-time Musician of the Year, played with Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band for 28 years.
Now, Mac and Scotty Emerick will bring their show “Margaritas and Memories” to the Montgomery Performing Arts Centre on August 23. Tickets go on sale today.
McAnally and Buffett are both adopted sons of Alabama. Buffett, born in Pascagoula, grew up in Mobile and graduated from Mobile’s McGill Institute, now McGill-Toolen High School.
Mac was born in Red Bay, Alabama and grew up in eastern Mississippi. He became a session musician in Muscle Shoals and now lives in Sheffield.

It’s a return to Sweet Home Alabama for Mac’s singing, Scotty’s guitar picking and Buffett’s music.
Emerick started playing in the Coral Reefer Band in 2023 and still plays in it. He has written songs for a number of stars including 23 songs for Toby Keith.

McAnally has been the voice and frontman of the Coral Reefer Band since Jimmy Buffett’s death on September 1, 2023. Jimmy had told them all to “keep the party going.” They are.
If these memories of the late great Jimmy Buffett affect you like they do most Parrotheads, you’ll need those margaritas.
