A kangaroo on the loose on Interstate 85 in Macon County caused a minor traffic accident while running down the road shortly before being apprehended without injury by law enforcement.

Videos began flooding social media on Tuesday afternoon of a Kangaroo hopping along the highway.

While initial comments found the odd spectacle amusing, it turned slightly more serious in the afternoon after the traveling marsupial caused a one-car accident near mile marker 46 on the southbound lane.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the kangaroo has been recovered, and no one was injured in the crash, including the animal. Macon County law enforcement officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment on where the animal came from or how it got loose.
