On Tuesday, voters in Madison County took to the polls for state and federal primary elections, with certain precincts reporting a low voter turnout.

According to the Madison County Republican Party, out of 329,197 registered voters in the county, only 67,568 ballots were cast, resulting in a voter turnout of approximately 20.5%.

Madison County Republican chairman Steve Schmidt told 1819 News that conservative voter turnout will likely increase significantly in November's general elections.

"Our outstanding 5th District Congressman, Madison County Sheriff, and most of our strong, proven conservative Legislators and Judges were not on the Republican Primary ballot because they have done such great work, they were unopposed," said Schmidt. "Their proven conservative results will drive Republican turnout for the November 3rd Election."

The election results were provided as a service of Probate Judge Frank Barger and Madison County's election team.
