The Mobile Police Department is investigating after a man tried to rob another man at an ATM.

The incident happened around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning at the PNC Bank at 5351 Highway 90.

The man saw another man walking towards him as he was trying to withdraw cash. He realized he was familiar with the subject, but the subject demanded money. The man refused, and the two struggled.

During the scuffle, the victim was cut several times with a sharp object, and the subject fled without money.

When police arrived, they found the victim with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police did not provide a suspect description but said it is important to stay aware of your surroundings.

“It is always important for you to stay aware of your surroundings at all times,” said public information officer Blake Brown. “Although this appears to be an incident involving known individuals, it serves as a reminder to remain vigilant.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Mobile Police.
