The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced on Thursday the arrest of a man accused of assaulting and robbing a woman at her food truck.
Keith Watts, 29, is charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, second-degree burglary, certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm and seven counts of felony failure to appear.
Investigators said the incident occurred on October 4 in the 4300 block of Bessemer Superhighway. Deputies arrived on the scene at approximately 9 p.m. The female victim was treated by Shoals Ambulance Service.
Nearly a month later, Watts was arrested in Birmingham.
“Great work by our team in getting this suspect off the streets of Jefferson County so quickly,” said Jefferson County Sheriff Mark Pettway. “I appreciate the team’s dedication and tenacity, and I also appreciate the unwavering support of our citizens.”
Watts was booked into the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
Watts is considered innocent until proven guilty.
