The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force arrested a man in connection to a July 1 fatal fentanyl overdose in Gulf Shores.
Zachary Michael Winter, 38, is charged manslaughter and four counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Investigators said the victim, a 43-year-old woman, died in the 3000 block of W 1st Street. The Baldwin County Coroner’s Office used its Randox analyzer and detected the presence of fentanyl in her system.
Detectives said evidence shows Winter provided fentanyl to the victim on the day of her death. He later admitted to the crime, the sheriff’s office stated.
