Oxford Police identified a man killed after an accidental shooting at the Oxford Exchange shopping center.
Levi Cotton accidentally shot himself Tuesday, according to investigators. First responders transported Cotton to the hospital, where he passed away Thursday morning.
“Mr. Cotton was an organ donor, and in the midst of this tragic loss, his selfless decision will provide the gift of life to others,” said Oxford Police chief Daniel Phipps. “We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
Phipps asked the community to pray for Cotton’s family.
