Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates released information about a man killed while walking along the interstate.
The 32-year-old man was hit on Interstate 20 West between Oporto Madrid Boulevard and 1st Avenue South in Birmingham.
The incident occurred at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday. The Birmingham Police Department responded after the vehicle's driver called 911. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, and the driver is reportedly cooperating.
The name of the victim will be released after his family is notified.
