The man convicted in the 2021 shooting death of Kelon Foster in Mobile was recently sentenced to life in prison.
LeCarey Lett, 29, of Mobile, pleaded guilty to intentional murder and was sentenced Tuesday.
According to court documents, Foster was killed after being shot multiple times as he was walking to his car outside of Stadium Sports Bar and Grille. The murder happened on Sept. 11, 2021. Fox 10 News in Mobile reported the suspect was angry over a gaming system he bought from the victim.
Mobile County Circuit Court Judge Brandy Hambright sentenced Lett to the maximum. The judge also denied a “farewell visit” that would have allowed Lett to visit his children for his 30th birthday on April 24.
“LeCarey Lett held himself accountable and admitted to the crime he committed today,” said Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood. “All loss of life is tragic, but we hope this chapter closing today brings peace to Kelon Foster’s family.”
Assistant District Attorneys Coy Morgan and Katherine Wick, along with trial coordinator Shyla White presented the case.
