A man was injured Saturday when he was struck by lightning, according to multiple reports.
Guntersville Fire & Rescue told reporters the man, who was around 50 – 60 years old, was fishing on a boat when he was struck. The incident happened just before noon.
The man had serious burns and injuries and was taken to a Birmingham-area hospital for treatment.
No other injuries were reported.
Multiple agencies, including Guntersville Fire & Rescue, the Guntersville Rescue Squad, Hebron Volunteer Fire Department, Marshall EMA and North Marshall Volunteer Fire responded.
