U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said Thursday that COVID-19 vaccines should never have gained FDA approval after a new study found the injections are not safe.
"FDA approval for COVID-19 vaccines needs to be pulled, and they need taken off the childhood vaccine schedule ASAP," Greene stated on X.
The study, published in the National Library of Medicine, examined 99 million individuals and found increases in cases of myocarditis, pericarditis, Guillain-Barré syndrome and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis following mRNA platform injections.
"COVID-19 vaccines are causing permanent harm and deaths," Greene continued. "I've been saying this ever since they [vaccines] were created and my personal Twitter account was permanently banned for my outspoken stance against the vaccines until Elon Musk bought Twitter, changed it to X, and restored my account along with thousands of people who were censored and silenced."
State Rep. Ernie Yarbrough (R-Trinity), who has previously filed a medical freedom bill, agreed. On the state level, he plans to file two vaccine-related bills this session: medical freedom and a ban on vaccine requirements for those in need of lifesaving medical care, such as organ donations.
As a lawmaker himself, Yarbrough believes it's the legislature's job to protect citizens and their enjoyment of life, liberty and property, as stated in the state constitution.
"So, our state motto is, 'We Dare Defend Our Rights,' so, the point being is that this is important because how you answer these questions is going to dictate how you build social structures and social institutions, communities, and how you utilize power," Yarbrough said.
Yarbrough went a step further and called vaccine mandates wicked, evil, and destructive. He likened them to "medical rape."
"If an employer demanded inappropriate favors in order to advance your career, you would have reason to litigate, sue, demand legal action and protection," he explained. "And it's the same here."
"It's one thing for an employer to say, 'Hey, put on a hard hat, put on a pair of safety glasses or a mask," he continued. "But you can take those off. You can't take a vaccine off."
In 2021, the CDC said there were no links between the COVID-19 vaccine and myocarditis. However, it has since backtracked and said there are cases, but they are rare. The new study found a 610% increase in myocarditis cases among those taking the mRNA platform injection.
Montgomery and Auburn Dr. Ryan McWhorter told 1819 News he doesn't recommend the vaccine for anyone of any age. He said he sees adverse effects of the COVID-19 vaccine almost every day.
"For the last five years that the government's kind of allowed this, these mandates and the control, in some cases if people don't have the vaccine, they don't get the care they deserve," McWhorter said.
Even though he doesn't believe the vaccine is safe, he is unsure how he feels about an all-out ban.
"I don't know about bans," he told 1819 News. "I feel like it absolutely should not be forced on anyone. I've said to someone, 'You know, it's a free country.' If they want to take it, then take it, but absolutely, I recommend to all my patients do not get it."
