Running on priorities of faith, family and fellowship, Matt Hubbard won Sylacauga's mayoral runoff Tuesday.

Hubbard had 51% of the votes. His opponent, Bryan Taunton, also known as the city's Santa Claus, ran a close race, with 49% of the votes.

Hubbard, a retired Alabama public educator, vowed to recruit new businesses and industries to Sylacauga while maintaining the city's small-town feel.
