Mayor Woody Baird and Mike Densmore are headed to a runoff in the Alexander City mayoral election.
According to results posted by Alexander City on Tuesday night, Baird received 1,482 votes to Densmore's 1,086 votes. Audrey "Buffy" Colvin finished in third place with 901 votes.
Since no candidate received over 50% of the vote, the top two candidates, Baird and Densmore, will now proceed to a runoff election on September 23.
