A Mexican national recently pleaded guilty to illegally voting in multiple elections in Marion County, according to U.S. Attorney Phil Williams.

Homero Ramos pleaded guilty last week to U.S. District Judge Edmund LaCour on two counts of fraudulent voting.

Ramos was a lawful permanent resident, but he has never obtained U.S. citizenship. Despite not being a citizen, Ramos registered to vote in Marion County and did so in the 2022 and 2024 general elections.

Ramos was arrested on a federal offense following a Homeland Security and Secretary of State’s Office investigation.
