The Mighty Alabama Strikeforce was dispatched to Virginia ahead of the state elections.
On Tuesday, Virginians will vote for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and all 100 seats in the House of Delegates.
Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears is the Republican nominee for governor. Rain or shine, the Strikeforce knocked on doors and spoke to voters about why it is important to vote and campaigned for Earle-Sears.
The Democratic nominee, Abigail Spanberger, is a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
U.S. Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-Va.) visited the GOP headquarters in Virginia Beach to greet the Mighty Alabama Strikeforce.
“This group knocked over 3,000 doors in the last two days alone,” Kiggans said. “Thank you for your help.”
Virginia’s nominees for lieutenant governor are openly gay Republican John Reid and a Muslim Democrat woman, Ghazala Hashmi.
Virginia does not do straight-ticket voting. Each candidate runs individually, so it is possible the state could elect a Republican governor and a Democratic lieutenant governor.
