U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks) announced on Monday that he's running for re-election to Congress.
Rogers, House Armed Services Committee chairman, officially filed paperwork to qualify to run for re-election on Monday.
The District 3 U.S. Representative said he had President Donald Trump's "early and strong endorsement."
“I want to thank the constituents of Alabama’s third district for their continued faith in me to represent them in Washington,” Rogers said in a statement. “I’d also like to thank President Trump for his early and strong endorsement. I am very grateful for his trust in me to champion and help pass his peace through strength agenda in Washington. Throughout the next two years we must complete what we started under President Trump. We must close our borders, protect the unborn, unleash American energy, and grow our economy!”
