Congress isn't "getting enough answers" on the Iran conflict from the Pentagon, according to U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks).
The United States recently began combat operations against Iran several weeks ago. Some have speculated the conflict will be resolved soon, while others have said the conflict could last months, with thousands of American troops being deployed to Iran.
Rogers, a defense hawk and House Armed Services Committee chair, told POLITICO on Wednesday that members warned defense officials that troop movements in the region should be "thoughtful and deliberate."
The House and Senate Armed Services committees received a classified briefing on Iran on Wednesday.
Rogers told the outlet, "We want to know more about what's going on, what the options are, and why they're being considered."
"And we're just not getting enough answers on those questions," Rogers said. "That's what I conveyed to them at the end of this hearing: this has consequences if you don't remedy it."
The Pentagon is requesting approximately $200 billion to fund the war with Iran.
