This time last year, an Auburn nursing student from Vestavia Hills was competing for Miss Alabama 2024.
Competing as Miss Hoover, Abbie Stockard won, but she did not remain Miss Alabama for long. That’s because she represented Alabama in the 2025 Miss America contest — and won. She started a year-long contract representing the nation.
This Saturday night, Miss America Abbie Stockard will be on hand at Samford University’s Wright Auditorium to crown Miss Alabama 2025. That winner will go to the 2026 Miss America competition.
Tickets are no longer being sold online. Remaining tickets can be bought at the gate on Saturday starting at 6 p.m. The show starts at 7 p.m.
Miss Alabama has gone on to win the Miss America title four times:
- Yolanda Betbeze of Mobile in 1951
- Heather Whitestone of Dothan and Jacksonville State University in 1995
- Dr. Deidre Downs of Pelham in 2005
- Abbie Stockard in 2025
