The Miss Alabama competition is underway after preliminaries began Wednesday night. The competition will continue on Thursday and Friday with the winner being crowned on Saturday night in Birmingham.
The competitions are nightly at 7:00 p.m. at Samford University’s Wright Center. To purchase tickets call 205-871-6276. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. You can also email tickets@missalabama.com.

The contestants are judged based on looks, presence, wit, and talent. Every Miss Alabama contestant has to have won a qualifying pageant somewhere in the state. The winner of the Miss Alabama pageant will be a contestant in the Miss America pageant.
The reigning Miss Alabama is Miss Lauren Bradford. Lauren competed in the 100th Anniversary Miss America competition on December 16th, 2021 at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Connecticut and finished as 1st Runner up to Miss America 2022 and won over $42,000. She is a fiddle player.
