Miss America Abbie Stockard recently visited President Donald Trump in the Oval Office to talk about life-saving measures for women.

Stockard discussed the Promise Fund, an initiative to fight breast and cervical cancer through early detection. The Birmingham-area native posed for photos with the president, U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) and the Promise Fund CEO Audrey Brown. She also presented a bracelet for first lady Melania Trump.

Stockard, an Auburn University nursing student, graduated from Vestavia Hills High School in 2021.

She is also passionate about her community service initiative, Cystic Fibrosis Awareness. After leaving Washington, Stockard flew to Santa Monica for the Clarity Ball, a benefit for families battling cystic fibrosis.

Stockard was crowned as Alabama's fourth Miss America in January.
