MONTGOMERY — The Alabama Legislature dropped a high-scoring affair Wednesday to their Mississippi counterparts 16-11 at Riverwalk Stadium in the second edition of their Battle of Tombigbee match-up.

Mississippi jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the top of the third inning, but Alabama came back in the bottom of the third, buoyed by an inside-the-park home run from State Rep. Brock Colvin (R-Albertville) to trail Mississippi by one run, 7-6.

Alabama took the lead in the fourth inning. The two teams were tied 11-11 headed into the eighth inning, but Mississippi had a five-run ninth inning, which was the difference in the game.

In addition to bragging rights, Mississippi takes the belt trophy back to Jackson after losing it to Alabama in the 2024 game.
