A four-year-old in Mobile County was picked up from school with a blood alcohol content of .29, four times the legal limit.

The child’s mother, Mary Singleton, spoke with Fox 10 News about the ordeal. She said she picked her daughter up from school and her body was limp. She rushed her to the hospital, where she was placed in the ICU for two days.

The child’s blood alcohol content was tested, and doctors determined the child had ingested a large amount of ethanol. While it is unclear how the child ingested the ethanol, the alcohol is used in numerous products, including perfume and hand sanitizers.

Singleton said she is frustrated because she isn’t getting any information from the school system. The Mobile County Public School system has not responded to a media inquiry from 1819 News.
