The Mobile County District Attorney's Office is thankful for a conviction after what the DA called a difficult case to present.

Cody Lee Bush, 26, of Mobile, was found guilty of 15 criminal counts in connection to a 2019 arrest for child pornography and rape.

Bush was found guilty of eight counts of possession of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 years of age involved in obscene acts, five counts of dissemination of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 years of age involved in obscene acts, rape in the first degree of a child under seven and sodomy in the first degree of a child under seven.

According to court documents, the rape and sodomy victim was only 18 months old at the time of the offense. Bush was also found guilty of taking sexual videos and photos of a child between the age of seven and nine. Prosecutors contended the defendant had an "unnatural sexual desire for young children."

"What we presented in court was hard to see and hard to hear," said District Attorney Keith Blackwood. "We are thankful the jury saw the truth."

It is unclear how Bush had access to the victims.

Bush will be sentenced on March 20. The only possible sentencing option is life without parole.
