Ophelia Nichols, better known as ‘Mama Tot’ on TikTok, participated in a prom dress drive to benefit Mobile teens.

Nichols donated dresses she already had and donated dresses she purchased to the city of Mobile and to Semmes Tanning Salon’s prom closet.

“It made me feel really good, you know,” said Nichols. “I didn’t get to go to prom. I didn’t make it to prom, actually. I would’ve loved to go to prom, I would’ve loved to graduate and walk down that aisle and do all those things that I get to see y’all do today.”

Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson said citizens and the city came together for a prom dress drive. Over 150 dresses were collected. Stimpson confirmed Nichols was a part of that.

“This incredibly kind woman from our community used her wide-reaching social media platforms to promote this event,” said Stimpson. “She also donated several items herself and came to help local kids pick out outfits earlier this week. We greatly appreciate her support and what she does to help young people in Mobile and beyond.”
