The unofficial election results in Mobile show a likely runoff between State Rep. Barbara Drummond (D-Mobile) and former Mobile District Court Judge Spiro Cheriogotis.

With 95% of polling places reporting, Drummond had 34.23% of the votes and Cheriogotis had 27.81%.

Cheriogotis gave up the judgeship and retirement to run for mayor. He said he wanted to build on the successes of Mayor Sandy Stimpson, who endorsed him.

Drummond, a former reporter for the Mobile Press-Register, also served as an administrator for the Mobile County Commission and as the executive director of administrative services and community affairs under former Mobile Mayor Sam Jones before being elected as a State Representative.

Former police chief Paul Prine received 19.72% of the votes, and Mobile County Commissioner Connie Hudson garnered 18.24%.
