Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis announced Robert Shreve will be the city’s new attorney, replacing Ricardo Woods, who has served for more than a decade.

"Ricardo Woods has served the City of Mobile with integrity and distinction for more than 12 years, and I'm grateful for his continued commitment to the city,” said Cheriogotis. “His deep knowledge of our legal and governmental landscape will remain invaluable to my administration.”

Woods will remain a member of the mayor’s leadership team and will focus on policy and economic development.

“After more than a decade serving as City Attorney, this transition is the right step at the right time – for me and for the organization,” Woods stated.

Shreve, a Mobile native and Burr Forman partner, has worked alongside Woods for nearly 10 years.

“Robert Shreve is extraordinarily capable and deeply respected,” Cheriogotis said. “He brings the experience, temperament, and leadership needed to guide the City Attorney's Office into its next chapter."

"I am honored to be entrusted with this responsibility and grateful for the confidence shown by Mayor Cheriogotis and by Ricardo, who has been an exceptional mentor and leader,” Shreve stated. “I look forward to serving the City of Mobile with the same dedication and professionalism that Ricardo has exemplified throughout his tenure."
