The City of Mobile is taking applications for the C251: Citizen’s Academy.
The five-week program gives participants an inside look at how local government works and how citizens can get involved.
An in-depth look into legal and community affairs, administrative services, neighborhood development and finance, public works and public safety will be offered. There will be hands-on demonstrations and presentations from City staff.
The academy will be held on Wednesday evenings from March 12 – April 16. It will end with a graduation ceremony.
Applications can be submitted online through March 7, but space is limited.
City leaders say they hope the program helps them get feedback directly from citizens.
