The Mobile Police Department arrested a man in connection with a deadly fight that claimed the life of an elderly man.
Officers were called to 2311 St. Stephens Road on Tuesday afternoon in reference to an assault. They discovered a man unresponsive.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died. The victim was identified as Charles Edward, 81.
Upon further investigation, police arrested Sammy Tate, 60, and charged him with manslaughter. Tate was placed in the Metro Jail.
Detectives determined the two were involved in a physical altercation in a parking lot.
Tate is considered innocent until proven guilty.
