Mobile Police released more information about two separate shootings that occurred at the same time on Sunday.

The first shooting was at 11:09 p.m. in the area of  Dauphin Street and S. Joachim Street. Officers working in the Entertainment District for Mardi Gras were in the area and responded. Seven people were shot and transported to the hospital for treatment. As of Monday, one victim was listed in critical condition.

At the same time, police were called to a parking lot near Government Street and S. Joachim Street, where a male victim was found dead from a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as Javeli Alexander, 21.

Investigators determined Alexander was shot during an attempted robbery. The victim of the robbery was also shot, but survived.

Police have determined the two shootings were not related.
