The Mobile Police Department is investigating the death of a child that occurred on Thursday afternoon.
Police responded to a local hospital at 2:40 p.m. after receiving a call that the child was driven to the hospital by a personal vehicle after being struck in the 2200 block of Clinton Street.
The injured female died a short time later.
Investigators said the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police.
Mobile Department of Public Safety public affairs manager Blake Brown said further details will not be released pending the investigation.
