The City of Mobile is giving citizens and riders options on the rebranding of the public transit system.

Over the past year, The Wave transit system has received numerous complaints from residents, so the city's new administration is refreshing and rebranding to improve service.

Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis introduced two options for naming and design during the City Council meeting on Tuesday. The options are "Second Line Transit" and "MoGo."

"We really need residents and riders to help us shape the future of that system," Cheriogotis said. "As we prepare to launch our redesigned transit system in July, we're inviting Mobilians to help us choose the name and brand."

"We are putting options out there to let Mobilians pick their favorite," director of communications Jason Johnson told 1819 News. "So, they've got some ownership in this transit system that we're trying to make better."

Johnson said the rebranding includes other changes, such as different routes and apparatuses, which will be rolled out this summer.

The City offered a QR code and website for people to take a survey. The survey will remain open through March 27.
