The man responsible for a prayer attraction in Monroe County passed away on Tuesday.

Reverend Kenneth E. Johnson of Monroeville was 94.

The Monroeville Church of the Nazarene pastor started the “Johnson Prayer Log” in the woods near his church nearly 50 years ago.

People came to the log to pray and place rocks to represent their prayers. The site is now located behind New Home Primitive Church off Experiment Farm Road, in Excel. It has become a popular attraction.
