A Krispy Kreme location in Montgomery is temporarily closed after photos of a major ingredient spill were posted online.

The Facebook post showed photos of a hazardous mess inside the store. The poster, JaMel Jermaine Brown, stated the manager refused to close the store despite a grease spill.

"She also forcing the workers to work in those conditions," Brown stated. "The lobby is down only the drive thru is open." They are leading people in the blind and risking them getting sick because the manager doesn't want to close the shop for the PROPER CLEANING."

The Montgomery County Health Department was tagged in the post.

The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) responded, and the location was closed for emergency repairs and cleanup.

However, WSFA reported the Krispy Kreme corporate office denied that ADPH forced the closure in a statement to the news station.

"The images of our Montgomery, AL shop circulating on social media are the aftermath of an equipment malfunction and subsequent ingredient overflow," the statement read. "We made the decision to close the shop until the issues are addressed and the shop is cleaned to ensure the safety of our team members."

It appears it may not be long before the store reopens.

Carlos Pressure Washing LLC later posted on the City Watch [uncut] Montgomery Facebook page, "It can be a million people against you, but there is always that one, somewhere willing to help." The company published photos of a clean store.
