Keanete Shipp, 21, of Montgomery, who is out on bond for trafficking drugs and other contraband into the Elmore County Correctional Facility in April, was recently re-arrested in Montgomery for several felonies, including attempted murder.

According to court records, Shipp was charged in April with attempting to traffic drugs into the Elmore Correctional Facility. Shipp is charged with trying to smuggle five pounds of marijuana, 90 grams of the synthetic amphetamine alkaloid commonly known as bath salts, 30 cell phones, 24 charging cables and 17 charging blocks.

Shipp’s bond for the combined trafficking charges ended up at over $3 million. He was bonded out days after his arrest.

Further court records state that Shipp was re-arrested on Monday for crimes he allegedly committed on July 9. Shipp’s new charges include attempted murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, and discharging a firearm into an unoccupied building or vehicle. His total bond for the newest charges sums up to $120,000. It's likely a judge will file to revoke his previous bond and hold him without bond for the new charges. However, court records show no such filing at the moment.

This is one of several in Montgomery that recently have been re-arrested after being released on bond for violent crimes.
