MPD arrested Johnnie Taylor, Sr., 23, of Montgomery, on Wednesday, charging him with capital murder in the death of a yet-unidentified six-month-old boy. Taylor is currently being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility without bond
On Thursday, November 7, MPD was notified about a 6-month-old juvenile male with life-threatening injuries who had been transported to a hospital in Birmingham. The infant was pronounced dead three days later.
The circumstances and cause of death were initially unknown, which prompted an investigation. The infant was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy. Based on new evidence, the death is being investigated as a homicide.
