The Montgomery Police Department (MPD) is investigating the murder of a six-month-old infant that occurred earlier this month.
On Thursday, November 7, MPD was notified about a 6-month-old juvenile male with life-threatening injuries who had been transported to a hospital in Birmingham. The infant was pronounced dead three days later.
The circumstances and cause of death were initially unknown, which prompted an investigation. The infant was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy. Based on new evidence, the death is being investigated as a homicide.
MPD did not release further details or announce suspects. However, it did ask for anyone with knowledge of the crime to come forward with any information.
