ForestPAC, the political action committee of the Alabama Forestry Association (AFA), has endorsed three candidates ahead of Republican runoff elections scheduled across the state.
On Tuesday, the organization announced its support for U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) for U.S. Senate, State Rep. Rhett Marques (R-Enterprise) for Alabama's Congressional District 2 and former U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) for Alabama's Congressional District 1.
ForestPAC released the following statements announcing the candidates' endorsements:
"We are proud to endorse Congressman Barry Moore for the U.S. Senate. A lifelong advocate for Alabama agriculture and forestry, Moore has been a strong voice for landowners, loggers and the forestry industry throughout his public career," the organization said. "We look forward to continuing to work with him to support Alabama's forests and rural communities."
"Alabama Forestry Association is proud to endorse Rhett Marques for Alabama's 2nd Congressional District," ForestPAC wrote. "As a businessman and conservative leader, Rhett understands the importance of protecting private property rights, supporting rural communities and promoting policies that help Alabama's forestry industry thrive. We look forward to working with leaders who recognize the vital role forestry plays in our state."
"We are proud to endorse Jerry Carl for Alabama's 1st Congressional District. A proven leader with deep roots in South Alabama, Jerry understands the importance of forestry, private property rights and the rural communities that depend on them," ForestPAC said. "We look forward to working with him to support Alabama's forest landowners, loggers and forestry industry."
The primary runoff elections will be held on June 16.
