U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is urging fellow Republicans to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, arguing it would address leftist immigration policies perpetuated under former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
In a video message posted to social media on Tuesday evening, the legislator specifically criticized liberals for granting illegal immigrants "Disney fast passes" into the United States to boost decreasing voter numbers in traditionally blue states.
"I think you need to understand what I think is the game plan, or what's the play with the Democratic Party," Moore said. "They saw over the last decade, they were losing their base. The party went so hard left. It started under Obama. It left so many blue-collar, working American people, families that just wanted to be left alone and wanted less government. Didn't want this nation divided, wanted the nation united."
"I think they came up with this big plan to move illegals into this country, into blue areas to make sure they kept their population numbers to offset the voters that they were losing," continued Moore. "And so when Biden, in addition to Obama, opened that southern border and gave these Disney fast passes. Instead of remaining in Mexico, they let them flow across the border and said, you can apply for asylum later. And so they treated what we called illegals as asylum seekers or refugees. And then they let those folks start voting in elections."
Moore stated that he supports "nuking" the filibuster to pass the legislation, noting its rare bipartisan support among voters.
"The SAVE Act will require that you have an ID and that you're a US citizen. It's very important that we pass this. I think we need to nuke the filibuster if that's needed," Moore contended. "And I encourage the Senate to move it to the finish line, because the President needs this. You need this. The American people want this. It's an 85% issue. It's crazy. Even Democrats say, "Yeah, only US citizens should be voting in elections. This is not a partisan issue. This is an American citizen issue, and so we're going to make sure that we try to push this across the finish line."
The congressman believes the mass importation of illegal aliens into blue states is a calculated move by Democrats to hold onto power.
"People are counted in the census, and then they're counted in the number of congressmen. They're counted in the number of delegates that you get to vote on in the presidential elections," Moore explained. "And it controls the money flow, too. So they dump these folks in the blue areas like the Minneapolis area, Minnesota, obviously, Wisconsin, Michigan, those swing states, to maintain their power, not for the people to have the power, but to maintain their political power. And they fund that, as we saw with the Minneapolis abuse programs. They're funding that power with your taxpayer money."
Moore added, "They're funding those people, and they're trying to make sure they vote in your election, so that you lose your voice."
