The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced the arrests of more than 30 illegal aliens from two manufacturing plants in the Birmingham area.
Agents conducted federal search warrants at the Scholar Craft plants in Birmingham and Irondale. The warrants were in connection with alleged identity fraud and unlawful employment practices.
The names of those taken into custody were not released. Officials only identified the subjects as being in the country illegally.
Scholar Craft manufactures school furniture, such as desks and tables.
