The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office held a service Monday for inmates who wanted to be baptized.
Sheriff Tom Boatwright said more than 40 inmates who made the decision to give their lives to Christ were baptized with the assistance of the Jail Ministry Team. Jail administrator Sgt. Keidra Booker organized the service.
“It was a powerful and uplifting day filled with faith, hope and encouragement,” the sheriff’s office stated.
The Jail Ministry Team provided a meal for all inmates following the service.
“We are truly grateful for the dedication, compassion and support of our Jail Ministry Team, whose continued efforts make a meaningful impact in the lives of those inside our facility,” the sheriff’s office added.
