Attorney General Steve Marshall announced the indictment of a Morgan County man on multiple charges of possession of child pornography. Nathan Lott, 41, of Hartselle, was served notice of the indictment on April 4, 2022, and was transported to the Morgan County Jail. Lott has reportedly not yet made bond.
Attorney General Marshall’s Criminal Trials Division presented evidence to a Morgan County grand jury, resulting in Lott’s indictment, on March 2, 2022. Specifically, the indictment charges him with four counts of possession of obscene matter depicting a person under the age of 17. Bond was set at $60,000. The indictment was the result of cooperation between the Attorney General’s Office Investigations Division Cyber Crimes Unit, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
No further information about the investigation may be released at this time.
If convicted, Putnam faces a maximum penalty of up to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of up to $15,000 for each of the four counts of possession of obscene matter, which are class C felonies. He is considered innocent until proven guilty.
