The Temptations and The Four Tops will perform at the Alabama Theatre in Birmingham on June 5.
The Temps and the Tops led Motown when it was at its peak in the 1960s.
The current generation of the Temptations is led by Dr. Otis Williams, the last surviving original member, with hits “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” and “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg.” “I Wish It Would Rain,” and “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone.”
The Four Tops lost their last original member, Abdul “Duke” Fakir, on July 22, 2024. The quartet is known for hits “Baby I Need Your Loving,” “I Can’t Help Myself,” “It’s the Same Old Song,” “Reach Out I’ll Be There,” and “Standing In The Shadows Of Love.”
Tickets are available here.
The 1927 Alabama Theatre has a capacity of 2,500.
It will be a trip to yesteryear. It will feature the same hits you heard on WSGN and WVOK in the sixties. It will be like hearing live bands at Oporto Armory. If you can remember all that, you will remember the Temps and the Tops. Be there or be square.
