The Mobile Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting in downtown on Sunday.

According to Mobile Department of Public Safety public affairs manager Blake Brown, the shooting occurred near Dauphin and Joachim Streets.

Brown said multiple people were injured, and at least one male victim was killed.

While the shooting has not been linked to the Mardi Gras festivities, there were already increased officers in the area due to those festivities.

The number of injured is unknown. Investigators have interviewed witnesses to determine the motive and the suspect.
