Law enforcement responded to bomb threats Friday at multiple shopping centers and malls across the state.

The Shops of Grand River in Leeds, University Mall in Tuscaloosa, Parkway Place Mall in Huntsville and The Shoppes at Bel Air in Mobile all received bomb threats around the same time. It appears none of them were credible, and no bombs were found.

“Any time we have threats, we assess the situation,” Cpl. Katrina Frazier with Mobile Police Department told 1819 News. “We evacuate and make sure everyone is safe, and that’s it.”

Frazier said the scene was cleared.

Investigators believe the threats may be connected to a group or individual who has been making threats to other malls and places of worship nationwide.
