The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double homicide after a man and woman were found dead in a wooded area off County Road 86.
The bodies were found on Wednesday by deputies. A vehicle was found nearby.
The identities of the victims have not been released, but Sheriff Jeff Nelson believes the woman was a local and the man was from South Georgia.
The FBI, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the Chambers County Coroner’s Office responded. The bodies were sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for examination.
