A Tuscaloosa woman has reunited with her dog after the canine was recently taken from her vehicle while parked at Target.
Tonya Kuhl was visiting the Super Target in Tuscaloosa on June 28 and left her dog, Hollie, in the car with the windows down and with snacks and water, given the heat.
After a 20-minute visit to Target, Kuhl returned to her SUV to find that the 25-pound German Pointer mix was missing.
Surveillance video showed a man wearing a yellow construction vest reach inside Kuhl’s vehicle and take Hollie out.
The Tuscaloosa Police Department put out pictures of the suspect seen taking the dog and asked for help.
According to WBRC, the man called Kuhl on Saturday, a week later, and said he would leave Hollie tied up at a nearby vet to get her back. Kuhl reportedly never got an explanation on why the man took her dog, and despite filing a police report, is not pressing charges.
"My heart is so full," she wrote on Facebook. "My girl is home."
