The Dauphin Island Town Council is asking for name suggestions for two beaches in the Sunset Capital of Alabama.

Dauphin Island already has two public beaches: East End Beach and West End Beach.

The town recently acquired a third beach near Dauphin Island Elementary School, traditionally known as “The Public Beach,” and will soon acquire a fourth beach near Pirates Cove Street.

Anyone can submit names, and the town council will choose the most creative on July 18. You are asked to note if your suggestion is for “Public Beach” or “Pirates Cove Beach.”

Submissions should be emailed to Jenny McLester at jmclester@townofdauphinisland.org before July 14 at noon.
