Around 200 jobs are coming to south Alabama thanks to a new FedEx logistic facility coming to Dothan.
The $57 million, 317,000 square-foot facility will be located in the Sam Houston Industrial Park.
“The new facility will further strengthen Dothan’s distribution efforts and enhance the area’s continued growth to support the existing and new business developments of the region. The facility will add 200 plus jobs to the area,” a statement by the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce read.
The facility will sit on a 70-acre lot and construction is expected to begin in December. The facility should be completed by the fourth quarter of 2022.
Gov. Kay Ivey, Alabama Department of Commerce, Alabama Department of Transportation, Wiregrass legislative delegation, Houston County Commission, City of Dothan, Industrial Development Board of the City of Dothan, and the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce - Grow Dothan collaborated on efforts to bring the facility to the area.
